Tech Note: This is a preferred choice for Balboa Spa Replacement, for 2 reasons, the bend on the left side of the element that allows for the element to avoid the temp sensor and have clearance, also 4 KW is what our techs in the field replace all Balboa Heaters with. The low amperage gives longer life to the heater and helps to avoid burnout at the circuit board, a problem we have seen frequently with 5.5 KW Heaters.

comes with everything you need. looks like an exact replacement, shape size and color. Fits perfect. easy DIY once you get the heating pipe disconnected. Don't forget new gaskets as they get old and gummy.
heating elements will leak at terminals and trip your breaker...you'll go nuts finding the problem, so this is an easy fix.

My hot tub was tripping the breaker as fast as I reset it, so I figured I had an electrical problem. I isolated it to the heating system. I pulled the old heating element out, and it didn't look so good, so I ordered a new one, put it in, and all is good.
